a ruffle in time...

(cupcake toppers via this is glamorous, laduree macaroons via the unicorn diaries, tim walker ruffles, the tea drinking english rose, lula)
today i am grateful for...

1. going on an adventure to dumbo and killing some time at powerhouse arena; shopping for books in the children's section. a wrinkle in time is one of those books i "read" on the summer reading list, but actually just skimmed. what a pity, it is actually a darling book. i'm hooked already.

2. amy merrick treating me to a delicious macaroon-the first time i have ever had one! these are like the french versions of cupcakes. i'm very lucky no bakeries have popped up in the l.e.s or west village peddling these dreamy sweets... i would never slim down for the wedding (not that i've been trying that hard). we talked her prop-styling ideas for the ceremony. i can't wait! she has so many ideas brimming in that creative mind of hers. i've been trying to convince her to wear so many different hats! event-planner. prop-stylist. flower/antique shopowner. lingerie designer. this girl is so good.

3. meeting up with chelsea and pete to experiment with fabric treatments for our next collection. they let me make the leather beads, and i had the best time! i can't construct anything three-dimensionally...i'm a real dunce at fashion production. thank god chelsea and pete are brilliant at creating samples (amongst many, many other skills behind our trio).

4. oohing and ahhing over all the ruffles on the paris runways. pete and chelsea and i are brainstorming techniques for developing a "new ruffle" for my bridal bolero. pete is getting awfully close...

and the new lula arrival at my magazine shop. hallelujah.

just browsed through your blog, its wonderful. I had to comment here because I also "read" a wrinkle in time when i was younger, and just stumbled on a copy recently and started reading. haven't finished it yet, but i'm so glad i rediscovered it!
