y'all, i had my first real deal driving lesson at nathan's driving school. my instructor, rufus, was one cool dude and we went on two different highways!!!!!! he thinks i could pass the test after one more lesson, and that i was a pleasure to teach-ha!
i feel super cool. i guess teaching a 26 year-old who has been practicing is infinitely more assuring than a wet-behind-the-ears sixteen year-old. anyway, sorry for being bragadocious. i'm just so happy to be chipping away at my biggest phobia. take that irrational fear of driving!

go ginny! i didn't get my license until i was 22 so i totally understand! good luck!
Yay! As a 30 year old who only started driving eight months ago after spending her entire adult life in the big city, I love this post. It's hard to muster the confidence at first, but then something clicks and look! We can get ourselves anywhere!
Oh, goodness...I am so with you on this one as well. I didn't get my drivers license until I was 25. I was freaked out. It gets easier, I promiss.
Wishing you all the best.
YOU can do it.
hugs,
Fritzi Marie
I just had my driving licence and I am 23, I know what you feel, I felt so odd in the driving school among teenagers..
yesss awesome! you can do it!
You go, Ginny! I used to love to drive, but after three accidents in two years (only one of them my fault) and over four years at college without a car I've become a little phobic too.
congrats! driving was my fear also so I know what you mean :)
<3
K
I have the same fear!!
How did you even take the first baby steps?? I'm 27 and STILL haven't managed it :(
My boyfriend would absolutely love it if I would learn to drive, as he is such a car guy.
Congratulations!!!
I can totally identify with this. I have my license but I still only drive around my city and never on the freeway. I totally need to practice and get over my fears.
awesome! so, now you have no excuses... tampa is just due south of atl, i will have you know- take 95 south for about 8 hrs and you will be delivered at my door (after oct. 5th)! xoxo
Same here, 27 and only just learning...I'm a proper scaredy cat granny behind the wheel :)
Good luck!
Ginny, I was forced to get my license when I was 18. I don't think I was ready. It's best that you waited and very brave of you to confront that fear.
On an unrelated note, have you seen "I Love You, I Love You Not" with Claire Danes and Jude Law? I think you might like it. Claire Danes is, not surprisingly, incredible in this movie. I have a major girl crush on her.
