this beautiful new year, i am grateful for...
the merrick sisters arrived in yummy, vintage party dresses, red lipstick, and hairbows, brandishing bottles of bubbly. sweet haylie bird brought us a bouquet of mauve roses covered in thick, icy drops. chelsea cook mended her too-large, glittered popcorn crown just in time for the evening. mollie little gifted us a twine-wrapped pomegranate. katie miller came all the way from philly, a most excellent surprise guest. emily cox attempted to walk in my eight-inch high heels, and paul wore his christmas plaid vest. josh goleman snapped away with his new camera, a gift from his lovely fiancee, murphy. and adrian muniz brought the fanciest bottle of rose moet( which we saved for midnight).
i woke up to a sea of confetti and a lingering reminder of all the champagne imbibed. pictures of my glittery friends in their party frocks still dance in my head. noismakers and party hats are littered across our apartment. this was my favorite new years, without a doubt. our home was filled with revelry and laughter, and a whole lot of talented people under one roof.
for the new year i hope to practice more yoga, take more classes, and cook at home more. i've said i'm stickin' to three... but can i add dance more and host more parties? more, more, more! what are y'alls resolutions? cheers to a new decade, filled with hope and high spirits... and hopefully a whole lot of naughtiness! on that note, i think a glass of mimosa and my handsome husband are both calling my name, ooh la la...

I just love reading your posts.. everything is so pretty! Glad you had a great new year, I think sticking with 3 is a good idea, I can never keep even one. Yoga is on my list as well, let us know how it goes :)
Love those photos!
I want to have more parties as well, especially themed partied with costumes and decorations. I also plan to read the whole bible and get at least half way through my notebook of things to make, i have al the fabric and buttons and feathers all ready to go, I just end up spending my days de-slugging the garden or baking banana bread!
Your new year party looks really sweet! would love to see photographs of you all, the ones Josh Goleman took.
I hope you have a lovely 2010, and continue to inspire me with your gorgeous photographs and grateful lists. xx
I'm enthusiastically supporting the throwing little parties resolution!
I realize I said that I could not come because my "legs were wobbly"...and it is so true. Happy New Year and sorry I missed it!
Even the aftermath of your party sounds amazing!
I'm still working out my resolutions... oof...
