simple gratitudes for a perfectly gloomy summer morning. waking up to the sound of rain against your window. actually being able to see outside of your window. the last lower east side dungeon had no windows to the outside world. just alleys and bar patios.
i am grateful for:
pale purple hydrangeas from a generous neighbor who didn't mind letting a few droopy blooms go to a new home.
a rain smattered window.
a pitcher of water spiked with lemon slices. tastes like summer.
black coffee in a cup and saucer. should be tea on such a grey morning, but i am ferociously addicted to coffee in the early hours.
my handsome man sleeping deeply. his cute feet peeking from the covers.

i really want a lovely glass water pitcher like that...i also find drinking water with lemons helps my stomach when it needs soothing.
My boy's toes stick out too. I think it's the most adorable thing. I'm afraid I do give into the urge to tickle him, though.
I love lemon water! It's so fresh and bright. You should try cucumber water--just let slices of cucumber sit in a pitcher overnight or for a couple of hours. It's sooooo refreshing.
i totally had to tickle his feet. he mumbled something endearing and smiled. but i couldn't wake him up. it was a little later than 5:30 a.m...
that looks like a perfect rainy day. love the lemon slices..
Oh how I wish it would rain here, there are plenty of clouds, but no rain and we need some so bad! I love the teacup!

(And i love it when my boyfriend's feet poke out from underneath the covers, too. He's way past 6 feet, so it happens all the time... cute!)
i am grateful for this gorgeous collage of love and sweetness. soft toes, silky little pods of rain on your window and sweet rumpled blossoms. hydrangeas are always just right.
