updo

{sephora hair bands, bobby pins, lulu organics hair powder}

i can't stop fantasizing about all the things i will do when my hair is long again. the in-between phase is just the pits! i keep trying to coax my hair into baby braids and various stages of a messy bun. the day i can muster enough hair for a topknot will be quite the triumphant day. and i will so rock a kooky victorian bouffant as soon as possible. all this works so well if you are anti-washing your hair often(which i totes am).

*p.s- jane birkin was a stone cold fox. although i think back in the day i would have been on team charlotte rampling.

oh Jane is such a style goddness. i love her simple hair do's and her baskets instead of purses. sending long haired thoughts your way!

A trick I learnt during my years dancing is how to pretend your hair is long enough to make a bun with it. Just put your hair into a ponytail, tease it, and secure it with bobbypins (and a net if you want to go all the way ballerina haha!). Hope this can help you to get that top knot earlier!

When I was growing my hair out, I frequented a board called "Long Hair Lovers."

The women on the board were obsessed with long hair, and I was obsessed with having it. A great match.

I discovered monoi oil (been addicted ever since) and that prenatal vitamins really help spur growth. ;)

Enjoy the growing it out ride!

camille: THANK YOU, i am going to give this a try today!

nichole:is monoi oil like morrocan oil? and i have been bad about taking my prenatal vitamins, but they definitely work like a charm!

This takes me right back to a magazine article from an English teen mag that I clipped ooh, about 1975 or 6, not even quite a teen then myself... all about cheap ways of having beautiful hair and the model had this kind of Jane-do and the hazy photography, I was smitten!! Any idea when this pic was taken?!

Jane Birkin is an Iconic figure. I think I like her more than Brigitte Bardot.
