july has been a deliciously calm month. i've had time to play housewife, go on long walks, learn new recipes, crack open new sketchbooks, and make homemade iced lattes. i know the fall will bring hustle and bustle and tons of wonderful projects, so now i am soaking up every last play day of summer. i hope y'all are doing the same! here is one of my favorite tree blossoms of georgia. the crepe myrtle. happy summer y'all!

Those blossoms are so beautiful! I miss summer so much! It's winter here in Argentina and today's the coldest day in the year so far, brrrr!
Have a nice day!
Miki.
Sounds to me like your July has been pretty ideal! Enjoy the rest of your calm summer (and those iced lattes, yum!).
"Mr. Croaker, Mr Croaker, this is a Crepe Myrtle!"
Immortal words!
Pretty Like I Mean It,

hahahahaha! mr. coker, mr. coker! i was soooo proud of myself.
i haven't seen a crepe myrtle since college in colonial williamsburg, where they're on every corner. so, so pretty. thanks for the pretty reminder of a happy time :)
Beautiful blooms! Have a sweet day!
I'm always confoozled when people talk about summer as a relaxing time (unless they are a school teacher, or retired... or a retired school teacher). I have to go to work five days a week in the summer, just like the rest of the year, and the garden takes SO much more tending in the summer that even my "days off" are not exactly spent lounging around.
The only time I take meandering walks in the forest, sip mint juleps, or frolic in the surf is in my own head, when I read other people's blogs.
Something is definitely wrong with this picture, eh?
hey marcheline! i totally understand, this is the first summer since i was 14 or 15 where i haven't either been in summer school or working full-time. i am a free-lancer right now, so i have busy months and slow months. june was a killer and july has been delightfully slow. and for the last few years i was land-locked with no where to go, with no time off in nyc. this is my time to play! i hope you get a fun summer, or at least a fun vacation soon!!
your summer sounds wonderful! i'd love to be able to do the things you've listed (so delicious-sounding indeed!) but i've got three jobs to juggle... eee! i hope the summer goes by very quickly because i have a supremely exciting surprise to announce come september. i never thought i'd say this, but i wish summer would end!
aww - the flowers are so beautiful and the way they have been photographed is really good - it seems like an ideal summer
